چکیده

We solve the quantum Vlasov equation for fermions and bosons, incorporating spontaneous pair creation in the presence of back-reactions and collisions. Pair creation is initiated by an external impulse field and the source term is nonMarkovian. A simultaneous solution of Maxwell’s equation in the presence of feedback yields an internal current and electric field that exhibit plasma oscillations with a period τpl. Allowing for collisions, these oscillations are damped on a time-scale, τr, determined by the collision frequency. Plasma oscillations cannot affect the early stages of the formation of a quark-gluon plasma unless τr τpl and τpl ∼ 1/ΛQCD ∼ 1 fm/c.

Kl3 and πe3 transition form factors are calculated as an application of DysonSchwinger equations. The role of nonanalytic contributions to the quark–W-boson vertex is elucidated. A one-parameter model for this vertex provides a uniformly good description of these transitions, including the value of the scalar form factor of the kaon at the Callan-Treiman point. The Kl3 form factors, f K ± , are...

We calculate the chiral and thermal susceptibilities for two confining DysonSchwinger equation models of QCD with two light flavours, a quantitative analysis of which yields the critical exponents, β and δ, that characterise the second-order chiral symmetry restoration transition. The method itself is of interest, minimising the influence of numerical noise in the calculation of the order param...

The fusion evaporation-residue cross sections for 32 S+ 184 W have been mea-246, and 257 MeV using the ATLAS Fragment Mass Analyzer. The data are compared with Statistical Model calculations and it is found that a nuclear dissipation strength, which increases with the excitation energy is required to reproduce the excitation function. A comparison with previously published data shows that the d...

We have developed a phenomenological quasi-deuteron model to describe photodisintegration reactions of He and He at intermediate photon energies, and compared the results with experimental data obtained by TAGX group in which contributions from photon absorption by pn pair were selectively observed. The data can be reproduced reasonably well, however there still remain certain discrepancies bet...

Simulation studies of the HADES first level trigger. PART I: Performance in heavy-ion induced reactions

The first level trigger of the HADES spectrometer is studied for the heavy-ion collision systems Au+Au and Ne+Ne. The trigger efficiency for central events is given in dependence of the imposed charged particle multiplicity condition. The timing properties of the trigger signal are described. The losses due to deadtime are specified. Finally, the first level trigger rate is reported. UCY–PHY–96...
